Job Description

Trillium is seeking an Electrical Engineer to work with our project management and construction management teams to provide engineering, planning, and project management for installation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling facilities, Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, Photovoltaic (PV) solar electric installation, and Distributed Generation (DG) systems. Manage phases of project execution including technical design, equipment procurement, and support project commissioning. Project Electrical Engineer will work with the external design firms, equipment vendors, as well as lead coordination of utility service providers. Active and continuing communication of project’s status to all key stakeholders internally and externally to clients.

Major Responsibilities

  • Evaluate EV charging, Distributed Generation, and PV solar opportunities, select and procure equipment, design interconnecting electrical systems, coordinate with electric utilities for electric power, provide technical support for installation and commissioning.

  • Review product offerings in the industry, make recommendations on which electrical products to use, work with procurement to purchase components that meet project schedule and budget

  • Engineer and design interconnects between electrical equipment, including conduit/wire sizing, control schematics, and one-line diagrams

  • Coordinate and submit electrical applications for power service with the utilities, work with the utility to schedule infrastructure upgrades

  • Support installation staff and commissioning agents during construction and startup on electrical issues

  • Coordinate design and manage delivery schedule of major electrical equipment orders with manufacturers to ensure construction schedule is maintained. Coordination with internal procurement department for minor electrical equipment.

  • Assist construction progress with periodic site visits. Identify problem areas within the process and work with stakeholders for speedy resolutions.

  • Support field construction team with review of submittals and response to requests for information from contractors and clients.

  • Coordinate with detailed engineering and costing team to finalize electrical design and cost and transition to construction phase

  • Uses appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to build constructive relationships with customers, business units, service organizations and other stakeholders to meet shared goals and objectives.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering


  • 2+ years’ experience with engineering design of industrial electrical equipment.

  • 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Project.

  • 1+ years’ experience with PV Solar, EV Chargers operations (or similar industry experience).
