Description
L3 Aerospace Systems is looking for a business development leader who is committed to delivering results. This individual will provide vision, direction and leadership in the development, implementation and execution of strategic plans focused on sales growth and brand recognition of L3 Technologies solutions in the Middle East Region.
This role will hold full responsibility to achieve and exceed annual sales revenue & margin targets for the Region. The majority of time will be in the field working with the customers, distributors, and corporate assets.
Duties include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of country business plans, identification and implementation of marketing activities, furthering customer relationship with in-depth knowledge of the culture and language, and adherence to compliance, regulatory requirements and strong business ethics.
Key Responsibilities;
Develops and implements regional business plans to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets for the Region
Develops and maintains customer intimacy by having a thorough understanding of the customer organizations, knowing how they decide upon and buy solutions within our solution set and building relationships across the customer organization
Collaborate with counterparts from the other regions, corporate assets both regionally and globally and the extended teams in L3 AS to achieve goals and growth objectives
Lead with vision and radiate a “can do” team spirit. Apply conflict resolution where required, facilitate change and solve problems in the best interest of the company
Responsible for providing guidance to marketing team to prioritize country and regional market needs. Ensure professional effective launching of extension products
Develops key relationships with industry/market thought leaders, organizations, and institutions across the region
Assist with the efforts required for any regional events and/or marketing initiative
Work with the indirect teams (CDR’s) to ensure successful pursuit compliance with all US Government and Corporate guidelines
Ensure accurate sales forecasts each month/quarter as well as other information as required for executive leadership
Promote L3 AS capabilities, applications data sheets and technical information to target customers in the specific market
Responsible for keeping the International Business Development teams informed of all sales related activity, market trends, highlights and competitor activity within the region
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or technical discipline and a minimum of twenty (20) years of sales and marketing. Masters degree strongly preferred.
Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of international sales and marketing experience within a multinational company in the defense industry
Requires a minimum of three (3) years experience in international business development, CDR management
Thorough understanding of ITAR, FCPA, UKABA and other standards as required for international defense sales
Familiar with FMS, FMF and other procurement processes
Proficient in both written & spoken English. Arabic is preferred but not required
Strong selling, negotiation and communications skills
Strategic and analytical thinking abilities and able to take decisions
Established robust industry network of respected global clients and partners
High level of trust and integrity
Proven experience working large pursuits that include identifying opportunities, establishing teams, identifying and managing risk, organizing technical and marketing resources, and preparing technical and cost proposals
Ability to work in a team and to solve problems
Proactive style
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Diplomacy and awareness of cultural issues
Flexibility to travel within / beyond the region (up to 80%)
Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in PowerPoint and Excel
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
