The plant Electrician is responsible for the following (hours 6 AM - 2:30 PM w/some overtime and occasional Saturdays):
Maintain safety and good housekeeping practice repair or inform supervisor if guards or safety devices are missing, do not operate equipment without proper guarding
Install, maintain, repair, replace and troubleshoot all electrical devices and hardware. This includes but is not limited to: all wiring, conduit, motors (ac and dc), switches breakers, analog and digital devices, PC boards, computers, printers, software, audio cabling, and network cabling and phone operation.
Knowledge & experience with PLC’s is must. Allen Bradley, Siemens would be a plus.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, & components, using test equipment & necessary hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown & correct the problem.
Acquired formal training in electronic theory and applications, feedback control system, electrical circuit schematics, blueprints, etc. is required.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment & components to identify hazards, defects & need for repair to ensure compliance with all codes & regulations.
Proficient use and understanding of all electronic devices, such as: oscilloscope, testers, tracers, signal generators, and others.
Obtain industrial truck operator license in order to use fork lift truck.
Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to operating machinery.
Requires technical knowledge sufficient to deal with complicated electrical problems requiring the use of complicated schematics and specifications and intermediate mathematics. Requires technical and mechanical knowledge to fabricate and weld.
Requires technical and mechanical knowledge sufficient to deal with mechanical problems requiring the use of schematics and specifications and intermediate mathematics.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Maintain records & files related to electrical work.
Work from ladders, up-lifts, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment & fixtures.
Direct & train Maintainers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring & fixtures.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training an experience.
Full and complete understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and electricity.
Prefer Electrician's License, but not mandatory.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Machine set- up, troubleshoots equipment failures, and perform repair and prevent maintenance services ensuring that all safety procedures are being followed.
Must have good working knowledge of all aspects of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and heating, ventilating and air conditioning related control systems.
Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings, as well as service manuals for all equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair both Electrical and Mechanical problems associated with Production and Facility equipment in a timely manner.
Must be able to work to repair equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Ability to work Overtime when needed.
