/So what does a Designer at Michael Baker International do?/
As a part of ourStructural Engineering Team,the CADD Tech will work with our engineering team to develop structural or civil drawings from equipment, engineering notes, sketches, and/or detailed drawings to ensure each design meets with the client is looking for.
/ Can you walk me through a typical day of a CADD Tech? /
You will utilize a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of standard arrangements, flow sheets, layouts, assemblies, isometrics, and etc.//
You will work closely with other designer/drafters and engineers to ensure coordinated design//
You will apply standard drafting/design principles and theories to complete assignments.//
You will use technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable standards and costs such as the one employed by TxDOT.//
You will ensure compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.//
You will compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparations of drawings.//
You will read and understand orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs.//

/Could you be the CADD Technician we are looking for?/
You’ll need a 2 year technical degree or certification of completion
You’ll need 0-4 years of CAD design experience
Naturally, you’ll need computer skills (Microsoft Office), proficient in Microstation and Auto CAD software.
