JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for an Associate (Software Engineering) in Dallas, TX. JOB DUTIES: Gather and refine user and technical requirements from stakeholders, principally focused on rates, pricing, client profiling and pre-trade execution within Securities Lending, i.e. Availability and Locates. Engage with trading desk and technology counterparts at external clients. Design and develop the core rate management and pricing system and work with other developers in other teams for consistent integration of services and flows. Enforce discipline across the software development lifecycle including test driven development. Help support our environment and effective utilization of the platform. Ensure that systems run well in production, are highly available at disaster recovery, and have sufficient capacity. Coordinate the work executed by the global team. Train the team with best practices, design and effective issue resolutions, overall application architecture, and the business it supports. Make and understand system-level and architectural changes in the application to drive performance and scalability. Work with technology and architecture teams to advance the firm s roadmap of moving to the Cloud platform. Work with automation team to advance the business line s roadmap to automate all integration testing. JOB DUTIES: This position requires a Bachelor s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as an Applications Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Securities Lending business areas such as availability, locates, and short selling coverage; Java including: Core Java 7, Java Transaction Management, Spring Framework, and Mockito framework; relational database such as Oracle; SQL and PL/SQL coding; Unix operating system; version control tools such as SVN; automated scheduling tools such as Autosys; restful web services; and XML and JSON. Also requires one (1) year of experience with: project dependency management tools such as Maven; rules engine such as Drools Rules; incident management tools such as HP Service Manager; automated regression testing tools such as Fitnesse; messaging infrastructure such as Tibo or EMS; in memory cache tools such as Gemfire; and monitoring tools such as Geneos.
