Work involves the investigation of alleged violations of the Texas Labor Code, including: examining, investigating, reviewing, and interpreting complaints, records, reports, information systems, and management practices to ensure compliance with state statutes and agency rules; and conducting audits for performance and legal compliance. This position:  conducts compliance audits of system participants;  reviews complaint referrals for compliance and recommends enforcement actions;  assists with special projects; and  performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Sixty college hours. Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Additionally, this position requires: two years experience in workers compensation, the insurance industry, health care, legal environment, compliance monitoring, investigative work or a field relative to assignment. Preferences for this position include: a Bachelor s degree in social science, behavioral science, criminal justice, business, public administration or in a field relative to assignment. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:  MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access); and computer technology principles, terminology, programming, and automated systems office practices, business terminology, spelling, grammar, mathematics; and  Texas Labor Code; and 28 Texas Administrative Code pertaining to the compliance requirements of workers compensation system participants. This position requires demonstrated skill in:  problem solving, decision making, and planning;  effective, professional verbal and written communication;  professional telephone techniques;  using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook; and  using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs. This position requires the demonstrated ability to:  master the principles of workers compensation and evidence requirements under the Administrative Procedures Act for the purpose of conducting performance audits and investigating complaints;  interpret and apply the Texas Labor Code and Texas Administrative Code;  communicate professionally and effectively both verbally in writing, with all levels of employees and the public;  communicate reviewed findings on compliance issues;  compose clear and concise reports, gather and analyze accurate and relevant evidence, evaluate workers compensation system participant actions for complianc
